Matt Maw serves as the business department chair at Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He teaches a variety of classes including World of Business, Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Info Tech, and Video Production. Matt serves as the DECA Advisor and was recently named an Outstanding DECA Advisor at the Nebraska DECA State Career Development Conference.
Matt completed his undergraduate studies in Business Education at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, is involved with the alumni association, and presents to pre-service business education students each year. Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, both from Doane University.
Professional involvement has been important to Matt as he views it as a duty of being a professional. He has given back to business education through service in his state and regional associations. He has been heavily involved with the Nebraska State Business Education Association and is currently serving as past-president. Matt has served on the M-PBEA board the past four years as Newsletter Editor and has served on a variety of committees. Matt is also a 3-time M-PBEA Share-An-Idea recipient.
One of his favorite quotes is from Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Matt hopes to grow our professional association and reach new peaks as we are stronger together. Matt is thankful for the potential opportunity to further advocate for you and business education as president-elect of our organization.
